Summary

This report examines antimicrobial resistance (AMR). The tripartite One Health complexity of AMR is extensively discussed, highlighting the contribution of animal health, human health and the environment to the global health situation. AMR is projected to be the leading life-taking public health problem by 2050, with about 10 million people dying and tens of millions losing their livelihoods. This report exposes the inadequate attention AMR is receiving generally, and specifically the neglect of the animal and environmental components, particularly in low and middle income countries. From finance to policy, this report provides workable recommendations capable of mitigating the issue through a One Health approach.
