The study examined the connection between the Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension (DASH) diet and the likelihood of hyperuricemia (an elevated blood-level of uric acid) in a Chinese adult population. Involving 71,893 participants, the study found that those with a higher DASH diet score had a lower likelihood of experiencing hyperuricemia. The relationship between the DASH diet and hyperuricemia was stronger for older individuals (age 50 years or older), women, and physically inactive participants.
