Summary
Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union (EU), aims to provide high-quality statistics and data on Europe. In partnership with National Statistical Institutes and other national authorities in EU Member States, Eurostat produces European statistics through the European Statistical System (ESS). Eurostat’s comprehensive range of statistics includes data on various aspects of agriculture, such as the structure of farms, economic accounts for agriculture, agricultural prices and indices, agricultural production, organic farming, and the intersection of agriculture and the environment.
As part of a larger dataset, Eurostat collects annual information regarding milk and milk products statistics. They gather data on dairy farm production and utilization of milk, milk collection, and production activity by dairies.
Eurostat presents a subset of this data showcasing two types of information from various EU countries: 1) raw milk and cream delivered to dairies, and 2) products produced at dairies, including drinking milk, cream for direct consumption, and milk and cream powders (excluding skim milk powder). This data, collected between 2013 and 2022 and is measured in thousand tonnes.
In addition to the data, Eurostat offers a user-friendly data visualization tool featuring line graphs, bar graphs, and a geographic map to easily track and explore the trends and changes over time.
